Austin-Based PR Firm Expands Nationally While Doubling Down on Cultural Strategy
By Al Duarte, Senior Consultant, Multi-Media Director
An Austin-based public relations and communications firm Saldaña Public Relations is experiencing steady growth by doing something increasingly rare, scaling nationally while remaining deeply rooted in the local business community.
Over the past year, the firm has expanded into new regional and national markets, grown its team with key leadership hires, and secured major client wins tied to measurable results, including brand visibility, audience growth, and market expansion. Oh, and did we mention hosting turkey drives and community plática with fresh pink bread and tacos with homemade tortillas. The firm now works weekly with several of Austin’s most recognizable and long-standing businesses, while also serving a growing roster of national clients across entertainment, lifestyle, tourism, and corporate sectors.
Company leadership attributes the growth to a disciplined focus on culturally driven strategy, campaigns that reflect how people actually live, work, and engage in their communities. That approach has helped the firm grow more than 50% while maintaining strong client relationships and repeat business.
The firm has also invested in its future locally, entering an office expansion and rolling out updated branding to reflect its next phase of growth. Leaders say the move reinforces their commitment to Austin, even as the firm’s geographic footprint continues to widen.
Founder Paul Saldaña, a sixth generation Austinite, brings nearly 30 years of experience in public affairs, public policy, public relations, and strategic communications. He previously served as Political Consultant, Campaign Director, and Chief of Staff to Austin’s first elected Hispanic mayor, Gus Garcia, overseeing policy development and managing media, community, and intergovernmental relations.
That background continues to shape a firm balancing national growth with local credibility. Saldaña Public Relations launched with a single goal: “to meet our clients’ needs for building awareness, trust and credibility for their projects, services or brands within Austin’s diverse communities.”
