MIA SIFUENTES, PROFESSIONAL INTERN

Mia is a junior at the University of Texas at Austin, pursuing a degree in Government with honors and a minor in Anthropology. Her academic interests focus on Latino identity and immigration policy. Born in Del Rio and raised in Houston, Mia has a deep love for Texas. As a first-generation Mexican American, she serves as a senior reporter for the Texan en Español, where she works to expand access to information for working-class and Latino communities of the Austin area. Mia has a profound interest in Texas politics and looks forwards to expand her knowledge and give back to the community.
